Who we are

Dishcovery (dishcoveryblog.com) is run by Tullan Holdings OOD, a company registered in Bulgaria: Legis Center, Blvd 6-ti Septemvri 152, Office 3-8B, 4000 Plovdiv, Bulgaria. UIC (EIK): 208463721. VAT number: BG208463721.

We are the controller of the personal data described here. Questions about your data? Email siemen@dishcoveryblog.com.

What we collect and why

  • Comments and recipe ratings: your name, email address, comment, IP address and browser details, to show your comment and fight spam. Your email is never shown publicly. Gravatar (a service by Automattic) may receive a hashed version of your email address to show your profile picture.
  • Newsletter: if you subscribe, your email address (and first name if you give it) is stored with our email provider Kit so we can send you new recipes. You can unsubscribe with one click in every email.
  • Emails you send us: we keep your message and contact details to reply and, for brands, to follow up on a collaboration.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics (through Google Site Kit), Jetpack Stats and Microsoft Clarity show us how visitors use the site: pages viewed, device, rough location and, for Clarity, how people scroll and click. We use this to make better recipes and pages. We look at it in aggregate and don’t use it to identify you.

Why we may use your data

Under the GDPR we need a legal reason for each use of your data:

  • Your consent: the newsletter, and cookies for analytics and personalised ads. You can withdraw your consent at any time, for example through the cookie settings link or by unsubscribing.
  • Our legitimate interest: showing comments, protecting the site against spam and abuse, keeping it secure and working, and replying to your emails.
  • A contract or a legal obligation: brand collaborations, invoices and the business records the law requires us to keep.

Advertising

This site shows ads through Journey by Mediavine, which also runs Grow, the tool behind features like saving recipes. Mediavine and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads that fit your interests and to measure them. In the EU and the UK we ask for your consent first, through the consent pop-up, and you can change your choice at any time.

Mediavine Programmatic Advertising (Ver 1.1)

The Website works with Mediavine to manage third-party interest-based advertising appearing on the Website. Mediavine serves content and advertisements when you visit the Website, which may use first and third-party cookies. A cookie is a small text file which is sent to your computer or mobile device (referred to in this policy as a “device”) by the web server so that a website can remember some information about your browsing activity on the Website.

First party cookies are created by the website that you are visiting. A third-party cookie is frequently used in behavioral advertising and analytics and is created by a domain other than the website you are visiting. Third-party cookies, tags, pixels, beacons and other similar technologies (collectively, “Tags”) may be placed on the Website to monitor interaction with advertising content and to target and optimize advertising. Each internet browser has functionality so that you can block both first and third-party cookies and clear your browser’s cache. The “help” feature of the menu bar on most browsers will tell you how to stop accepting new cookies, how to receive notification of new cookies, how to disable existing cookies and how to clear your browser’s cache. For more information about cookies and how to disable them, you can consult the information at All About Cookies.

Without cookies you may not be able to take full advantage of the Website content and features. Please note that rejecting cookies does not mean that you will no longer see ads when you visit our Site. In the event you opt-out, you will still see non-personalized advertisements on the Website.

The Website collects the following data using a cookie when serving personalized ads:

  • IP Address
  • Operating System type
  • Operating System version
  • Device Type
  • Language of the website
  • Web browser type
  • Email (in hashed form)

Mediavine Partners (companies listed below with whom Mediavine shares data) may also use this data to link to other end user information the partner has independently collected to deliver targeted advertisements. Mediavine Partners may also separately collect data about end users from other sources, such as advertising IDs or pixels, and link that data to data collected from Mediavine publishers in order to provide interest-based advertising across your online experience, including devices, browsers and apps. This data includes usage data, cookie information, device information, information about interactions between users and advertisements and websites, geolocation data, traffic data, and information about a visitor’s referral source to a particular website. Mediavine Partners may also create unique IDs to create audience segments, which are used to provide targeted advertising.

If you would like more information about this practice and to know your choices to opt-in or opt-out of this data collection, please visit National Advertising Initiative opt out page. You may also visit Digital Advertising Alliance website and Network Advertising Initiative website to learn more information about interest-based advertising. You may download the AppChoices app at Digital Advertising Alliance’s AppChoices app to opt out in connection with mobile apps, or use the platform controls on your mobile device to opt out.

For specific information about Mediavine Partners, the data each collects and their data collection and privacy policies, please visit Mediavine Partners.

Affiliate links

Some recipes contain affiliate links. If you buy something through them, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. The shop may set a cookie to know the purchase came from us. We take part in the Amazon Associates programme. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. More on how we earn money: our disclosure.

Embedded content

Recipes may include videos and posts from YouTube, Instagram, TikTok or Pinterest. These behave as if you visited those sites directly, and they may collect data and set cookies under their own privacy policies.

Cookies

We use cookies to remember your comment details (if you choose), to keep the site working, and, with your consent, for the analytics and ads described above. You can change your cookie choices at any time through the consent settings, and block or delete cookies in your browser; some parts of the site may then work less well.

Who we share data with

Only with the services that run the site and the business for us:

  • Hostinger (website hosting)
  • Kit (newsletter)
  • Mediavine and its advertising partners (ads, Grow)
  • Google (Google Analytics, Site Kit)
  • Microsoft (Clarity)
  • Automattic (Jetpack, Gravatar)
  • Our accountant, for invoices and business records

Some of these services process data in the United States. When they do, it happens under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. We never sell your personal data.

How long we keep your data

Comments stay as long as the recipe is online. Newsletter data stays until you unsubscribe. Emails are kept as long as needed to handle your question or collaboration, and as long as the law requires for business records. Analytics data is kept only for the limited period set in each tool.

Your rights

You can ask us to see, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to or limit how we use it, and to withdraw consent at any time. Just email us. You can also complain to the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection (cpdp.bg) or to the data protection authority where you live.

Children

This site is not aimed at children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
